The effective management of healthcare facilities requires a proactive and structured approach to asset maintenance, especially in complex environments like hospitals, where compliance with Australian Standards and Codes is critical to safety and operational continuity. Aspire FM was engaged by Mater Hospital, Newcastle, to develop a comprehensive Technical Maintenance Plan and Schedule aimed at standardising and streamlining maintenance procedures across all building assets. The primary objective was to ensure all systems complied with legislative and regulatory requirements while also supporting efficient data integration into the client’s Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

This case study outlines the methodology adopted, including the full review of applicable standards, detailed asset inspections, defect identification, and alignment with data management systems.
